Cesar Chavez Middle School



Geek Squad Academy from Best Buy provided an opportunity for students to develop tech skills, build self-confidence, spark creativity, and discover how technology can benefit them in their educational pursuits and in future careers. Students at Geek Squad Academy became "Junior Agents" and got a hands-on experience with some of the newest and coolest technology. Local Best Buy employees helped the Junior Agents explore areas like: Coding, Film, Production, Photography, 3D Design, Digital Music, and more!

BBB Programming



Using Hourofcode.org as well as Sphero BB8 robots the youth learn about programming more specifically block programing. They use what they learn to enable the small robots to navigate mazes.



Digital Compass



This is a course around internet safety and how to retain ones privacy whilst using the internet.



Digital Music



Utilizing Ipads and the Garage Band app, the youth learn about the functions musical instruments and learn how to create their own unique songs.



Web Know How



This course explains basic HTML coding in order to teach how the youth how web pages are created. Utilizing https://thimble.mozilla.org/en-US/ the students create their very own webpages.



3D Design



This course the youth are taught the basics of 3D modeling utilizing software called Sketchup. Throughout the course the students learn to design their own 3D models of a house and table.

Geek Squad Academy Highligghts



The Eden Computer Clubhouse in partnership with Cesar Chavez Middle School's Youth Enrichment Program brought Geek Squad Academy to South Hayward.
