OUR HISTORY

Founded as Eden Youth Center in 1977, we have deep roots and a long history of working within Hayward and the greater East Bay to provide vital resources and support to underserved communities. Our organization began by offering support and resources to young people at the Kimball Elementary School in North Hayward, and in 1979 we made the decision to relocate to South Hayward in order to address the disproportionate lack of resources, including public and mental health services, safety, education, and occupational training and employment opportunities, in this area. Our current location, formerly the Tennyson Elementary School, has allowed us to continue our mission of supporting and empowering youth and families and addressing issues of social injustice. We are proud to be a responsive and community-centered organization, continuously adapting to the evolving needs of our community and valuing the power of collective action.
